Raised on a small island on the French Atlantic coast and now living in Biarritz, a large part of my life has been driven by the ocean.
Bodyboarding has been my key entry to it and favorite tool to enjoy the ocean since I was 13 and is still nowadays, using this humble piece of sponge as a thread through my life for the past 30 years and an amazing vehicle to explore the world from a unique point of view.
From chasing the rare freezing breaks at home with a bike and a board bag on the back to dawn patrol missions on secret reefs and world-class beach breaks overseas, it opened a world of amazing adventures—from remote Indonesia and the Philippines to Mexico, Australia, Brazil, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka, Panama, and Chile—where I met the most incredible characters along the way.
Growing up in the '90s and being passionate about an alternative culture, magazines and VHS tapes were our only media to engage and stay connected with our passion. Those were full of inspiring stories of remote adventures, larger-than-life characters and almost unreal tales of gnarly situations, from near-drowning experiences to shark encounters.
All those stories were illustrated by epic imagery from iconic photographers who were shooting analog from the impact zone in shallow, heavy waters or pioneering the first POV shots by placing a 4kg camera housing on a helmet. Those inspiring figures soon became some of my heroes and sparked a true passion for photography and storytelling—the same passion that would eventually lead me to the advertising and entertainment industry.
Since then, the ocean is still my favorite (and daily) playground, and every swell, strike mission, fishing trip or family journey is an opportunity for a good shot.
